So then I messed up...
I tripped over a little fence and totally ate it. Landed on my chin so hard. Bruised my knees really bad. Scraped my palms. And busted my chin wide open. It was gushing blood and the inside of my mouth was bleeding too. But I appeared to be in ok spirits.
Almost caught up...
So that brings me to last night. My friend from college, Peter Rosenberry was in town. He came down to LA with Toby, and Amy came down and we had shabu shabu. This picture is of Vernon Dew. My old roommate and another Concordia University alum.
By the way
We were over there for a going-away gathering for his roommate, who plays viola in the band Airbourne Toxic Event. They are doing great. Very happy for her.
Toby Lason...
He was one of my very best friends in college. He's hilarious and a complete nerd. I met him and his beautiful girlfriend Marisa for a drink last week. Was great to see him.
Piercing team
I do not look good here. But this is Jonathan and Brian. Their piercing/tattoo shop is on Melrose and it's really nice.
Septum
I had my nose ring put back in with a tiny gold ring. I like it a lot. Check out the piercers ears! Nuts, right?
My 'hood
My neighborhood is getting worse I think. I'll move this year I'm pretty sure. There's a lot of strange tagging going on. Not sure if this counts as tagging, but it's interesting none the less. Can anyone figure what it means?
We hung with my friend Keith...
... And as usual, I spilled some wine. It was white wine thank goodness, but the mark on the suade couch looked like an old lady sing to me.
New Years
With Joshua, Melinda, Amy, and Me. It ended up being a blast. We had some pre-party and keraoke at Brass Monkey then went to a crazy party some where, where didn't know anybody. We look a little sinister here; just hammin' it up.
Head butt
Got a hit in the head by joshua's head when he was helping me pick up my bags. Got a wee bit of a shiner.
Back in LA
Back home I had an urge to hang downtown. So I went down to Pete's and got bleu cheese fries - so so good. They had these beautiful lights up on the street...
PDX
Portland didn't seem that cold when we got there, but on Christmas Day it was snowing like crazy! Here's the part where I didn't take nearly enough pics while playin' with the little ones... The pictures I did take were stupid. Ready for some stupid??
Mama
So on Christmas Eve we said goodbye to Maggie and Ernest and got on a plane to go see the Martins in Portland.
Oh yeah
So right before vacation I dyed my hair bright fire engine red, so you'll see that here. I was catching snow flakes on my tongue.
Santa Fe New Mexico
So Christmas break came along and we went to New Mexico to see Joshua's mom, Maggie. We stayed with her and her boyfriend Ernest. It was a true New Mexican experience, adorned by snow, green chillies, and Native American fertility sprites.
Christmas w/ some little Neiswongers
We got lil' Chris a guitar and he LOVED it. Anna got a big pink stuffed puppy. Good times. How come kids have the hardest time smiling when you tell them to? They do it all the time!
Catching up...
So here I will attempt to catch up on a months worth of photo blogging in one afternoon. I've been negligent, and it's certainly not like nothing's been going on. So just over a month ago, the Holiday break was approaching, and I was at the Metallica show at the Forum. It was a great show.
